I was first awed by nature in my childhood during family driving vacations throughout the US. I gained greater appreciation for the natural world during many days and nights hiking and camping as a Boy Scout. Nature and science continued to be an interest during college.
I received my first camera in high school and became seriously interested in the process of capturing images while in the Air Force. I was drawn more and more into the photo world while working with professional photographers though various jobs with advertising agencies and corporate environments.
I am particularly interested in revealing the spiritual power of natural places. They are everywhere around us, if we just stop to really see. Photographs are truly gifts of time. Through these windows, sometimes compressed, sometimes expanded, we are able to view images we are not privileged to see in the world of real time. My goal is to give the viewer an idea of how sacred and important nature is and how essential it is to protect our wild and free places.
